Nurse Residency Program (NRP)
The Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program (NRP) helps newly licensed nurses transition from school to clinical practice, with the goal of reducing turnover and improving job satisfaction. Hospitals rely on NRP data—especially the Casey-Fink Graduate Nurse Survey—to evaluate program effectiveness.
The original dashboard used to analyze this data was built in Power BI but had not been updated since 2006. It had significant usability issues, outdated workflows, and did not meet design or accessibility standards.

The Problem
The interface was built by developers during a time with no product owner—making the UX logic deeply technical but not user-centered.
Coordinators found it difficult to interpret results and identify key trends.
The UI did not follow Vizient’s design system, leading to inconsistency.
Data visualization lacked clarity, and benchmarking features were hard to use.
